MANILA — A measure seeking to mandate the disclosure of the Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) of the President, the Vice President, and other high-ranking government officials on an annual basis has been filed at the House of Representatives.
Congressmen from the Liberal Party and the ML party-list filed on Monday House Bill 2897 or the proposed “People’s Freedom of Information Act of 2025”.
Under the measure, Cabinet members, senators, congressmen, Supreme Court justices, commissioners of constitutional offices, and Armed Force of the Philippines officers with the rank of general shall also disclose their SALNs to the public “through the websites of their respective offices” yearly.
mali ka diyan, hindi si duterte ang ayaw mag release, FPRRD SALN was publicly accessible until 2017 when the judiciary modified the rules on requests of access, still public pa rin kaya lang binago lang ng judiciary ang rules ng pag request ng access
No wonder kinatigan ng Office of the Ombudsman yung request niya to modify the rules on requests for access. The loyalty belongs to those who appoint the Ombudsman.
The point is, who appoints the ombudsman? For Sure, kapag na appoint si Remuula as the next Ombudsman, you will criticize his loyalty to the person who appoints him, ngayon pa nga lang you already criticize him in advance. Ikaw na rin nag sabi, the loyalty belongs to those who appoint them.
haha just like saying tuta ang supreme court ng mga Duterte, the judges are always linked to their corresponding appointing officers, pero kahit ganyan na ang perception natin sa judiciary ay di pa rin ma-deny na kasama si bangag at yung poon mong si Leni ang na-protektahan sa pagbabago ng rules of accessing SALNs
haha given na ang perception na yan bossing, at hanggang ngayon wala pang na-i-impeach na mahistrado for being tuta ng dutertes so claiming it as a fact is just too early
