Some individuals who went missing during the Duterte administration’s war on drugs may have been dumped in Taal Lake, Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla said on Monday.
“Later on, we will have a separate team document many of those who disappear during the drug war within the area for Metro Manila to Region 4,” Remulla told One News’ Morning Matters in an interview.
Remulla said there appeared to be a pattern connecting victims of the drug war and individuals who vanished in connection with e-sabong.
“Yung drug war at e-sabong disappearances ay parang nag-intersect 'yan,” he said. “May mga common players within that two sets of untimely deaths or disappearances of these people.”
When asked directly whether drug war victims could have been dumped in Taal Lake, Remulla responded: “Of course that’s possible. We’re not discounting the possibility.”
