Castelo’s appointment comes after months of the OVP not having a spokesperson—or since Michael Poa left the position empty in November 2024. According to Castelo, she herself submitted her application to the OVP to get the position. “There was no convincing [on] the part of the vice president or the staff. They did not need to convince me,” said Castelo in her first press conference when asked why she agreed to become the OVP’s spokesperson. “I actually submitted an application for any position where I can help in the OVP,” she added.
