Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo on Tuesday, November 18 raised alarm over the extent of the drug problem in her city, saying even some police “assets” in the barangays are emerging as the main drug personalities in their areas.
She said she has relayed multiple reports to Naga City Police Chief Col. Gilbert Farinas, stressing that the current anti-drug program “is not doing enough” and that tighter coordination between the PNP and City Hall is needed.
Noong nagkaroon kami ng assessment dito, ang pakiramdam ko talaga is they are not doing enough. Pagdating sa enforcement, kaya ng PNP 'yan, pero dapat may maayos na synergy sa trabaho ng PNP at saka City Hall,” Robredo, speaking in Bikol Naga, told a Naga-based radio station.
Robredo added that communities have reported cases of high school students getting involved in drugs, describing the situation as “alarming” based on her assessment.
