Why let former President Rodrigo Duterte out of detention when he has already become privy to the names of witnesses and documentary evidence pinning him down for the deaths of thousands in his war on drugs?
The Office of the Public Counsel for Victims (OPCV), the temporary legal representative of the drug war victims, raised this point as it registered its own opposition to Duterte’s application for interim release at the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The OPCV said granting him liberty would expose the victims and their families to danger just when some of them had mustered the courage to speak about the killings.
“The release of Mr. Duterte will not only be a great destabilizing factor to the volatile security situation in the country as a whole, but will pose a direct and significant danger to the victims who have demonstrated courage in applying to participate in the present proceedings… despite the risks of being threatened or otherwise stigmatized,” the OPCV said in its 18-page response filed on June 25.

hehe but those lawyers are experts in dealing with icc bossing, marami palpak like yung gusto nilang ipa kick out yung dalawang judges, siguro the lawyers try to exhaust all legal remedies available at tama ka desperation na nga, and sa tingin ko papakinggan na nila ang suggestion ni harry na wag mag petition sa icc kundi doon sa netherland court mismo mag petition since the detention is owned and operated by netherlands pa rin
Experts sila sa paghahanap ng way para makatakas sa “kamay na bakal” ng ICC. They are trying to exhaust all closest to legal remedies para makatakas. Unfortunately for dugong, nagba-backfire ang mga statements and behavior nya sa mga nagiging resulta. Hahahahahaha. This calls for a party-party celebration.

yes new strategy yan boss based on the current status ng icc, dec 2024 lang lumabas ang reklamo ng mga member states kaya fresh na fresh pa yan, useless mag petition ngayon sa icc since they need digong as of now

ehehe if di sila madaling maloko they would have not receive complaint from the member states, so it is not na di madaling maloko kundi nasa matingding pangangailangan lang talaga sila ngayon
