Inconsistencies in testimony

VICO SOTTO FLAGS DISCAYAS’ BID TO TURN STATE WITNESS, CITES INCONSISTENCIES IN TESTIMONY

Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Monday questioned the credibility of contractors Pacifico and Cezarah Rowena Discaya, warning that the couple may be angling to become state witnesses to avoid liability in the flood control kickbacks controversy.

In a Facebook post, Sotto said the Discayas are “capable of lying,” pointing to their past campaign materials and noting “many inconsistencies” in their sworn testimony before the Senate.

He cited as an example the couple’s claim that they earned only 2–3% profit per project, contradicting their earlier boast in an interview that their wealth had reached “11 digits,” or at least ₱10 billion.

“PAANO KA MAGIGING BILYONARYO NA GANUN SA 2-3% PROFIT? Presidente na mismo ang nakakita sa ghost project nila. Sinong gagawa ng ganun kalaking krimen para sa 2-3% na kita?” Sotto said.

He urged the public to remain vigilant, stressing that the challenge now is to “sift through the half-truths and attempts to mislead us, not only of the spouses discaya but of everyone involved.”
