Naga City Mayor and former Vice President Leni Robredo on Tuesday, July 1, announced the implementation of Executive Order No. 1, which enforces a strict zero tolerance policy against corruption in the city government starting July 1.
Under the order, Robredo declared that the following practices will have no place in the local government:
Inflated project costs, SOPs, kickbacks, bribes, or any form of gift in exchange for government favor; tampering with daily time records, false overtime claims, and unjustified biometric exemptions; personal gain from public resources such as fuel or the use of government facilities, as well as entering into transactions that violate public duty; business activities or professional practices involving a conflict of interest; irregular delivery of supplies or services that bypass proper bidding or procurement processes; substandard infrastructure projects, including facilities that fail to meet safety and quality standards; and hiring and promotions not based on merit but influenced by political considerations, favoritism, or patronage.
“We believe that through our shared commitment to these reforms, Naga City will become more progressive and truly live up to its name as the ‘Maogmang Lugar,’” Robredo said.
