In his 50-page decision, Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court Branch 204 Presiding Judge Abraham Joseph Alcantara said that the prosecution failed to establish beyond reasonable doubt that de Lima and her driver Dayan had violated Republic Act 9165 by being involved in illegal drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison. While acknowledging evidence of rampant drug operations within the prison, he said the court found no conclusive proof linking the accused to the activities.
